Full Time Firefighter/Medic employment is done through the Twinsburg Civil Service Department and those tests will be posted in the Legal Notice section of all local, Cleveland and Akron newspapers.


Qualifications for Part-Time Fire/Medic for the Twinsburg Fire Department are as follows:

1. Must posses a valid current State of Ohio Medic Certification, CPR and ACLS Card.

2. Must have a valid 1B, 1C or 240 hour Ohio Firefighter Certification.

3. Must posses a Valid Drivers License and a High School Diploma or GED (Documents to be submitted at time of application)

4. Must be Twenty-One (21) years of age.

5. Must be a U.S. Citizen

6. No felony convictions of crimes of moral turpitude.

7. Proof of certification of Firefighter Physical Agility test from Cuyahoga Community College within the past year, with time of five (5) minutes or less. (Call 216-987-5092 to register. Registration form included with application below)

Any Akron Firefighters that apply for Part Time employment can substitute that annual CITY OF AKRON, OHIO FIREFIGHTER/MEDIC PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST in lieu of the Tri-C test as long as it meets the Akron Fire Department specified time standards.

8. Must reside within a twenty-five (25) mile radius of the Twinsburg Fire District borders.

9. You must pass the following before you are hired:

Interviews, Background Check, Polygraph evaluation, Psychological evaluation and medical exam including drug screen.
